Asyad Group, Oman’s leading logistics provider, has officially announced the tender process for the initial phase of the Muscat International Airport Free Zone, signalling a significant step forward in the country’s logistics and economic development. This project invites private entities to play a pivotal role in this growth-enhancing initiative.
Positioned as a key element within Oman’s comprehensive logistics framework, the Muscat International Airport Free Zone aims to elevate air freight access and logistics operations.
It is a strategic part of Asyad’s vision for an interconnected logistics ecosystem that seamlessly enhances Oman’s role in global supply chains, integrating land crossings, seaports, and economic zones.
Investment opportunities
The development is set to offer world-class logistics facilities, including ready-to-use warehouses and prime land plots, designed to attract significant domestic and international investment.
By providing unmatched commercial and tax incentives, the free zone affirms Oman’s status as a global logistics hub and an attractive destination for foreign direct investments.
Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the project emphasises Asyad’s commitment to promoting collaborations between the public and private sectors.
This initiative aims to integrate private enterprises into the national logistics network, contributing to Oman’s economic diversification and resilience.
Rapid economic growth
Following a decisive December agreement to manage and develop the free zone, Asyad Group has swiftly moved forward with its ambitious plans. The scope of the infrastructure development includes comprehensive site preparations, essential for laying the foundation of a logistics hub that will facilitate air freight and supply chain efficiencies across global markets.
Faisal Ali Al Balushi, Director of the Muscat International Airport Free Zone project at Asyad Group, invited local companies to participate in this critical initiative.
He stated, “The new free zone is a collaborative undertaking that we aim to deliver together with private partners.”
This project marks a significant milestone in Asyad Group’s mission to expand Oman’s logistics capabilities and foster economic development through strategic public-private partnerships.
