Ad hoc call by M. V. Songa Lioness, operated by CMA CGM, sets sail to Singapore DBGT has successfully attracted the ad hoc call from VOC Port to Singapore by CMA CGM, one of the world’s largest mainline operators. The vessel M. V. SONGA LIONESS berthed on 4 Mar 2025 @ 0915H handling a volume of 1,291 TEUs at DBGT, VOC Port and sailed on 04 Mar 2025@1755H.
By handling this direct Singapore call, DBGT Management proudly embarks on a new chapter of Global connectivity and economic expansion in the region. Whilst acknowledging this being a one-off ad hoc caller, DBGT management strongly feels that it’s just not a logistic achievement for DBGT but also signifies DBGT’s growing prominence in the international shipment.
This accomplishment further strengthens VOC Port’s direct connectivity profile to Singapore and extends its reach to Australia, New Zealand, the Far East sector etc., DBGT reinforces its commitment to EXIM Trade and the Shipping Fraternity, fostering global trade connections, driving economic growth and enhancing its reputation as a premier gateway for international commerce, with the support of VOC Port Authority Tuticorin.
DBGT Hosts Onboard Reception to Honor Key Partners
Mr. R Maneksha Fernando, Chief Operations Officer and Mr. R Michael Fernando, Head Marketing, along with their respective teams, warmly hosted an onboard function aboard the vessel. The event was organized to express gratitude to Mr. Jimmy George, Traffic Manager and Mr. Ramesh, Senior Deputy Manager, from VOC Port, for their unwavering support.
Special guests from CMA CGM, Tuticorin, including Mr. Vijay Sundar, Branch Manager and Mr. Mohandas Gandhi, Asst. Manager Operations, were also honored during the ceremony.
The onboard function provided a unique opportunity for the vessel’s Captain, Chief Officer and Chief Engineer to immerse themselves in local culture. The traditional exchange of shawls and garlands warmly welcomed the ship to DBGT, creating an unforgettable experience for all.
