Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) has set a new record for the highest single-day discharge from a vessel. On September 11, 2024, MV BABY HERCULES discharged a record quantity of 47,910 metric tons of steam coal at the port’s AKBTPL facility at Tuna Tekra. This surpassed the previous record of 47,000 metric tons set earlier this year.
The achievement is a testament to the port’s efficiency and infrastructure. The DPA has invested heavily in recent years to improve its cargo handling capacity and attract more business. The new record is a sign that these investments are paying off.
The DPA is also committed to reducing congestion at the port and improving vessel turnaround time. The port has implemented several initiatives to achieve these goals, including investing in mechanisation of cargo handling, new equipment and technology adoption.
The new record is a significant milestone for the DPA. It is a sign that the port is well-positioned to continue growing and prosper in the future.
