Angeliki Frangou’s Navios Maritime Partners has picked up the pace of offloading veteran tonnage with another upcoming exit of a 2005-built post-panamax bulker.
Brokers in Greece report the sale of the 87,100 dwt Navios Apollon I to an undisclosed buyer in a deal worth $13m – about the same price Navios Partners bought the vessel for in March 2018.
The disposal adds to last month’s sale of the 2005-built 76,600 dwt panamax bulker Navios Taurus for $12m.
The deals follow the company’s purchase options declared on four chartered-in kamsarmax bulkers built between 2015 and 2017 and sales of 2009-built supramax sister vessels in late April.
S&P sources in Greece have also noted sales of 2009-built MR tankers Nave Equator and Nave Orbit for about $26m each.
In related post-panamax deals, Japan’s K Line is shipping out the one-year-older Corona Kingdom to Chinese buyers for $11m.
