Following the success of the curtain raiser event in New Delhi, the Gujarat Government undertook an extensive series of national roadshows and international delegation visits to showcase investment opportunities as a precursor to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. The Vibrant Gujarat 2024 delegation, led by Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Co-operation, Salt Industry, Printing and Stationery, Protocol (Independent Charge), MSME, Cottage, Khadi, and Rural Industries, and Civil Aviation, Gujarat, marked its conclusion with a highly successful roadshow in Hyderabad.
The roadshow, part of a series covering major cities in India and international destinations, aimed to attract global investments and promote Gujarat as an ideal destination for business. Before the event, the minister engaged in one-on-one meetings with industry leaders, fostering connections and discussions on potential collaborations.
The event in Hyderabad commenced with a warm welcome by Meela Jayadev, FICCI Executive Committee Member & Director, Sudhakar Polymers. Attendees were treated to audio-visual presentations on Vibrant Gujarat 2024 and GIFT City, followed by a comprehensive overview of business opportunities in Gujarat by Dr. Kuldeep Arya, IAS, Addl. Industries Commissioner, Government of Gujarat.
Distinguished personalities such as Girish Satarkar of Deepak Nitrite, Dr. Nandini Ali of Apollo Hospitals, and Sreesa Bhargava Movva of Welspun Group shared their success stories of investing in Gujarat. The event also saw Jagdish Vishwakarma addressing the gathering, attributing Gujarat’s global recognition to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vishwakarma showcased Gujarat’s achievements across sectors like logistics, infrastructure , and renewable energy, emphasising its vast potential. He highlighted the state’s contribution to India’s GDP, cumulative FDI, and the presence of over 13 lakh MSMEs. Gujarat’s success in logistics and connectivity was underscored with statistics on industrial estates, private industrial parks, and a robust transportation network.
The minister lauded Gujarat’s accolades in various rankings, including Ease of Doing Business, National Startup Rankings, LEADS Index, and Good Governance Index. He proudly announced Gujarat’s 33 per cent share in India’s total exports and its position as a ‘Top Performer’ in NITI Aayog’s State Energy Climate Index.
Gujarat’s pivotal role in India’s economic landscape was emphasised, with the state leading in cargo handling capacity and the inauguration of the world’s first ‘WHO-Global Center for Translational Medicine’ in Jamnagar.
Vishwakarma provided insights into visionary mega projects like GIFT City, DREAM City, and Dholera SIR, expressing confidence in India’s trajectory towards becoming a USD 5 Trillion economy. He concluded by stating that the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, will play a crucial role in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047.’
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mily Saxena, CMD, Ogive Technology LLP, marking a successful step towards Gujarat’s global economic integration.
